We welcome applications for a scholarship or bursary from any self-funding student who will be paying domestic Tuition Fees. Additional criteria, such as programme eligibility, are shown clearly on individual award pages. You must first make an application to study a specific programme before you make an application for a scholarship or bursary.

We are taking applications right now for the first intake of students in August 2025. We encourage students to apply as soon as possible so that they can receive a Conditional Offer based on predicted scores for their chosen programme. We can accept an application from a student using their predicted grades if we receive their final grades once they are available.

We would encourage - and expect - that the recipient of a scholarship or bursary will act as a Student Ambassador to promote University of Southampton Delhi while they study with us.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has mandated University of Southampton Delhi to make sure that programmes delivered in India are the same as those delivered at University of Southampton in the UK. Three years is the standard length of an undergraduate Honours degree in England where University of Southampton sets academic standards. This 3 year length reflects a trend towards accelerated learning where students see a return on their tuition fees as quickly as possible, whilst still maintaining high academic standards and the quality of the degree awarded. University of Southampton 3 year undergraduate degrees, and 1 year postgraduate degrees, are accepted widely internationally.

We expect to provide 25 seats on each undergraduate programme, and 20 seats for postgraduate programme, during academic year 25/26.

There is normally a 5,500 INR application assessment fee which students would need to pay in order for us to process their application.

There is no cash alternative to the waiver of Tuition Fees made under a scholarship or bursary. We will reduce the amount of Tuition Fees that you will pay by the value of the award.

We encourage students to make their application to study at University of Southampton Delhi as soon as they can. This means we can issue an early Conditional Offer and that students will have the best the chance to meet their offer conditions. If demand is high, we may choose to close applications earlier than mentioned, but students with Offers to study would receive preferential treatment.

A merit bursary is a form of financial aid for students who otherwise would not be able to fund their education. It is based on the financial ability of students to support educational aims as well, as merit criteria based on academic performance.

Our programmes are designed to make sure that students quickly understand the fundamentals of their discipline, and then build specialisation and perspective through electives, or optional, modules. These optional modules are typically offered in academic years 2 and 3, adding depth and breadth to core learning from previous years. As these electives are often built around real-world trends, the specific choice of module available to students from year to year may vary.

The pass mark for all programmes within University of Southampton Delhi is 40%. This is the same pass mark across all University of Southampton campuses and reflects the high and equivalent academic standards across all our campuses.

You will be able to apply for a room at the student hostel from 01 May 2025. We expect demand for rooms to be high, and any bookings are made subject to availability.

University of Southampton Delhi students will start with us on in August 2025. They should plan to settle in on campus during the last two weeks of August 2025, preparing themselves for their studies. We expect teaching to start in September 2025.

In a dissertation module, students complete an independent research project. The objective is for students to take their learning, and build something of their own, demonstrating the skills that they have acquired, and the independence that they will need in their future career. The research orientation is an intrinsic part of an Honours degree.

An Honours degree, shown with (Hons) in the programme title, mean that students will understand the fundamentals of their discipline and then build specialisation and perspective through optional modules. These fast-paced, intense programmes deliver essential learning in the first academic year and offer optional course modules, or electives, in the second year. Honours degrees are offered at University of Southampton campuses across the world, reflecting teaching and learning to a higher academic standard, meaning that an Honours degree would hold more value post graduation for future study and career development.

Degrees with a BA and BSc award do not represent a stream, but a broad categorisation that reflects student choice and leaning. Our BSc degrees are oriented towards specialist, technical roles in industry with an analytical approach, not science subjects.

If you are awarded a full scholarship - which waives 100% of Tuition Fees - we will refund the value of any Deposit that you may have already paid.
